1We are continuing our effort, with your help, to enrich the content of Crime, History & Societies and to increase the diversity of the time periods, themes and geographical areas represented. This action takes a number of shapes beginning with raising the number of pages, with the present issue, to 160, thanks to renewed support from the Foundation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and our publisher and distributor, the Librairie Droz.

2We have also decided to augment the Advisory board, which plays an important role in recruiting and assessing new articles. Last year's new member, Radikha Singha (Aligar Muslim University, India) has been joined this year by Florence Bernault (University of Wisconsin, USA), Eva Cantarella (University of Milan, Italy), Florike Egmond (Algemeen Rijksarchief /National Archives, Netherlands), Elisabeth Crouzet-Pavan (Université Paris IV-Sorbonne, France) and Tomás A. Mantecón (University of Cantabria, Spain). We wish them all welcome and thank them for the faith they have placed in our work.

3We also take this occasion to let you know that Yves Castan, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toulouse, has expressed his desire to retire from the Editorial Board, although he will continue to accompany our journal from the Advisory Board. Member of the IAHCCJ from the start, senior member of the founding group of Crime, Histoire et Sociétés/Crime, History and Societies, he has shown unfailing support for this undertaking and has given it the benefit of his humanistic knowledge and great experience. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to him here.

4Last of all, as an extension of our editorial activities, we have been thinking, with the Librairie Droz, about launching a collection of titles. Our readers will of course be the first to be informed as our plans take shape, but we would already like to say that your suggestions will be most welcome.
